Meet Billie and Alice
Hailee Steinfeld voices 16-year-old Billie, while Rashida Jones plays Alice. Their strained relationship becomes central to the journey as they confront family secrets and begin to understand each other’s choices.
In Disney’s behind-the-scenes feature, the filmmakers describe the bond between the two leads as the story’s emotional center. The adventure is told through Billie’s perspective, giving audiences a teenager’s view of both the magical discoveries and the complicated parent-child dynamic.

A Realm with Its Own Rules
Hexe’s magic draws inspiration from nature and reflects the personality of each witch or wizard. Billie’s abilities emerge as she explores a world that challenges her expectations of what magic should be.
Among the characters she meets is Beef Roger Crummchuk, a three-eyed cat voiced by Walton Goggins. Jodie Foster voices Queen Celeste, whose determination to hold onto power puts Billie in danger.
